RCVS and EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine
After graduating from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Liza gained 7 years of experience in a wide range of veterinary fields until she embarked on an 8-year academic career which included completing her residencies in Small Animal Internal Medicine (University of Pretoria) and later Cardiology (University of Glasgow), teaching at the Universities of Sydney (UVTHS), Pretoria (CACS), and Ross (RUSVM), and research with a focus on biomarkers in critical care and infectious disease. She has also worked in private practice in Hong Kong and South Africa for many years.
Liza has authored a number of publications and book chapters. In 2015 her focus shifted to Cardiology and her current research interests include biomarkers of cardiomyopathies. She holds a specialist qualification from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA) and is a RCVS, Australasian Board and South African Veterinary Council recognised specialist.
