Clive Elwood

FRCVS

Managing Director

After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon I moved into post-graduate training, eventually achieving the Diplomas of the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and RCVS Recognised Specialist Status in 1995. I was awarded an MSc in Immunology in 1995 and a PhD in 2000.

I moved out of academia for the different challenges and rewards of private practice in 1997, joining Davies in its early development in 1998.

With the rest of the Board, I helped develop the practice to its current size and, in April 2010, I became Managing Director.

As well as clinical activities, I completed the Certificate of the National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health in December 2012.

In December 2013, I completed the Cambridge Judge Business School General Certificate with modules in ‘Best practice for managing people’, ‘Creating High-Performance Teams’, ‘Successful negotiation strategies’ and ‘The Professional Service Firm Leader’. In 2018, I started a Masters in Executive Coaching.

I have been Assistant Editor of Journal Of Small Animal Practice and a Board member of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. I am a Trustee of the assistance dog charity, Canine Partners, and of the British College of Veterinary Specialists. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017.

I am proud to lead an exceptional team of colleagues, who remain committed to delivering the outstanding patient and customer care for which we are renowned.
