Davies appoints Head of Diagnostic Imaging

Davies Veterinary Specialist (Davies) has appointed radiologist Andy Holdsworth as head of its Diagnostic Imaging service.

This new position further enhances Davies’ diagnostic capabilities, with the small animal referral hospital having recently invested £1.5m in new state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging systems.

Andy graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 and worked in a small animal first opinion practice in Nottingham before completing a one-year rotating small animal internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists. During this time, he developed a strong interest in Diagnostic Imaging and subsequently completed a further three months working as a Diagnostic Imaging Intern.

He went on to undertake a senior clinical training scholarship in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at Langford Veterinary Services, Bristol and became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2015 and an RCVS recognised specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2016. He worked as a radiologist at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists before joining Davies in August 2021.

Davies, the Linnaeus-run hospital based in Hertfordshire has recently upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of a new Siemens Magnetom Sempra MRI scanner and a Siemens Somatom go-All CT scanner. In addition, the footprint of the practice has been extended to accommodate the new equipment and is now adjacent to the new viewing room which provides multiple workstations for quick, efficient image review and reporting.
