Up to £25,000 per annum, 37.5hours Monday – Friday with some weekends.

Please note applicants will be covering shifts from 8.00am to 6.00pm.

An exciting opportunity has risen to join our Client Finance Team, supporting the day-to-day running of the practice. This role is split across three areas; Billing, Insurance and Accounts Payable so being flexible and willing to learn new skills is necessary.

The Role:

Within this role, you will be responsible for accurate and efficient processing of client invoices and their insurance claims.

You will be liaising with insurance companies, veterinary practises and our clients on a regular basis to acquire information to assist with setting up direct claims, pre-authorisations and other enquiries. You will submit claims through a variety of methods and gain an understanding of the different companies.

You will assist clients with enquiries about their invoices and billing, managing their payment expectations, and communicating effectively with clinicians to rectify any issues. On occasion creating payment plans for clients in need of one. You will be key to making sure a client’s bill is correct and ready for them upon the discharge of their pet from the practise. Also ensuring our daily takings are present and correct on our database systems.

You will be involved with making sure our invoices are paid promptly and keeping our credit control team informed of any cases where there are delays or issues paying. As well as chasing insurance companies to make sure our direct claims are paid within the set time frame. You will using our reporting systems to make sure there are no missed and uninvoiced bills.

For this role you must be confident in using databases and have a strong IT skills as it is predominantly a technically based role.  Strong communication is key and you will be an important point of contact for our clients and we receive a high volume of calls throughout the day. This will involve some difficult conversations and a degree of understanding on our behalf.

The candidate we are looking for:

  • You must be passionate about pets – we love helping our patients!
  • Great team member – we are a small, close team.
  • Excellent communication skills – via email, phone and face to face.
  • Strong IT Skills, including Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and database knowledge.
  • Previous experience in finance or insurance environment is desirable but this is not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to work well across multiple functions and at all levels of the business.

  • Work to high standards with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritising as and when required.
