Ultrasound service

Davies London is delighted to introduce the outpatient ultrasound service run by Francisco Llabrés Diaz and Charlotte Whatmough, both of whom are RCVS and European Veterinary Specialists in Diagnostic Imaging and have a wealth of experience. Francisco and Charlotte will be very happy to discuss the service or potential cases with referring veterinary surgeons.

The service will help to answer clinical questions posed by the referring veterinary surgeons. Suitable cases might include:

• abdominal masses (for confirmation and/or further evaluation)
• cases with urogenital or gastrointestinal signs
• staging of a known neoplastic process
• ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration.

Prior to the appointment Francisco and Charlotte would be very grateful if you could mention some aspects of the examination and the service to your clients, such as: 

• the need for clipping of the area of interest
• the need for the patient to be starved prior to the appointment in case sedation is required 
• the fact that reports will be directly and solely to the referring veterinary surgeon.

On the day, Francisco or Charlotte will greet the owner, explain how the examination will be performed and discuss the potential need for sedation and sampling. 

Whilst this is an outpatient service, the patient may need to remain at the practice for a while to allow efficient caseload management. It is expected that half a day should be sufficient. 

Our findings will be reported to the referring veterinary surgeon within one working day.
