BVMS MRCVS CertVA DipECVAA
RCVS & European Veterinary Specialist in Anaesthesia
Clinical service: Anaesthesia
Louise graduated from Glasgow in 1997. She spent three years in mixed and small animal practice before embarking upon a residency in Anaesthesia at R(D)SVS. Louise obtained the European Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia in 2003. She then moved to the Animal Health Trust as an anaesthesia/ critical care clinician.
She joined Davies Veterinary Specialists in Autumn 2007. Her research interests include neuromuscular blockade and local anaesthetic techniques.
| I have always been interested in physiology, even as a student, and anaesthesia provides an interaction of physiology and pharmacology combined with the requirement to make appropriate and timely decisions, sometimes in difficult and potentially life threatening situations. Being able to provide effective analgesia and supportive care such that animals recover from major procedures happy and comfortable is very rewarding. I am very proud of achieving my goal of becoming a Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia. |
